FAQ

Q: How long does it take to get my phone repaired?

A: In most cases less than 30 minutes. Some higher level repairs may take a few hours, but almost all repairs are done the same day.

Q: How much does it cost to have my smartphone repaired?

A: Prices vary based on quality/availability of replacement parts. We ONLY use the highest quality parts to ensure that you won’t have any issue after the repair is complete. We also use multiple suppliers to better ensure that we never have back ordered parts. For specific pricing, please stop into one of our locations for free diagnosis and a quote.

Q: Do you use OEM parts?

A: OEM parts are not always available. We use OEM parts where we can, but when they are not available we use the highest quality parts available.

Q: Do you offer a warranty on repairs?

A: We offer a 90 day warranty on all repairs. If within 90 days from the time of repair the part we use presents with any defects whatsoever, please bring it back to a Device Mechanics location for a replacement at no cost to you. Our warranty, however does not cover any additional physical damage to the part or water damage.

Q: Do you service water damaged devices?

A: Yes, in some cases water damaged devices can be cleaned and repaired to become operational again, however as with any of our repairs, we do not warranty any device that has been water damaged.

Q: Are you able to recover data from a broken phone, even though I’ve purchased a new phone already?

A: In most cases yes, just bring in your old, broken phone along with either your new phone or a memory card and we will transfer your personal data to the location you desire. Please be aware that we will need any passwords or lock screen codes required to retrieve the information.

Q: Do you unlock or root phones?

A: No, we do not manipulate software on the phone.

Q: Where can I have my device serviced at?

A: We have fully operational service facilities in Kenosha, WI and Sheboygan, WI.  In addition to these locations, there are six more pick up/drop-off locations that can be used in getting your device serviced in a timely fashion.  (Racine, Oak Creek, Franklin, Grafton, Jackson, and West Bend)

Q: Can I bring in my own part?

A: Yes, we will use your part and complete the repair.  Any warranty however, would be handled through your part supplier and not through us.
